1. WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
It is simply a relaxed, focused
state of concentration. It refers to the power that words and ideas have when
we surround these words and ideas with our complete attention. Hypnosis allows
the subconscious mind to readily accept new ideas without resistance in order
to create positive changes in our attitude and behavior.
2. HOW DOES HYPNOSIS WORK?
Our subconscious mind automatically controls our bodily functions;
breathing, heart beating, eyes blinking, and organs functioning. The subconscious
mind contains every belief, thought, word, and experience you have ever had.
Just like a computer operates only on its programming, so does your
subconscious mind. Just like a computer
can be reprogrammed, through hypnosis your subconscious mind can be
reprogrammed.
3. WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?
Hypnotherapy involves counseling with hypnosis. You communicate with the
deepest layers of your personality to create new and more powerful ways to
solve problems, overcome fears and limitations, and make lasting changes in
your life.
4. HOW CAN HYPNOTHERAPY HELP ME?
You can overcome anxieties, fears and phobias, you can move away from
negative habits, unrewarding jobs and unfulfilling relationships, you can
lessen or remove pain, you can heal sadness, anger and stress, you can improve
and enhance performance skills. Hypnotherapy assists you to direct your life
toward health, wealth, happiness and inner peace.
5. WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE TO BE HYPNOTIZED?
A daydream and a hypnotic state are the same process. In a daydream,
you are aware of where you are and what you are doing, but at the same time you
are very absorbed in the experience and sensations of your thoughts, ideas, and
images of that daydream. Watching a movie, driving home on auto-pilot,
practicing meditation or other relaxation techniques are other examples of this
natural state of the mind.
6. I'VE SEEN STAGE HYPNOTISTS ON TV. WILL YOU BE ABLE
TO CONTROL ME THAT WAY?
The answer is NO. Most of what is presented in stage hypnosis is very
distorted and misleading. A common misconception is that the hypnotic subject
is under someone else's control. You are always in control. At any time the
hypnotic state may be discontinued, just as we do with a daydream.
7. CAN I BE HYPNOTIZED?
Most of the population goes into hypnosis very easily, while a small
percentage show great resistance (usually around the issue of being controlled)
and the hypnotherapist may need to work with such people to help them "get
out of their own way."
8. MUST I BELIEVE IN HYPNOSIS FOR IT TO WORK?
No. Hypnosis is not faith healing. Hypnosis is based upon scientific
principles which work whether or not we believe in them. In 1958 the AMA
(American Medical Association) recognized hypnosis as a safe and effective
treatment for a wide range of medical and behavioral problems.
9. HOW IS HYPNOSIS DIFFERENT FROM MEDITATION OR
RELAXATION?
Hypnosis is similar to meditation as a process for achieving a creative
and peaceful state of mind. The difference is that in meditation that state of
mind is the goal; and in hypnosis the emphasis is on actively using that state
of mind to achieve what is being suggested by our words, thoughts, and ideas.
10. WHAT IS REGRESSION THERAPY?
Regression therapy, one of the most effective methods of hypnotherapy,
is useful in exploring whether the problem has roots in traumatic experiences
from childhood or from another lifetime. If so, regression therapy can help expedite the process of
working through feelings around traumatic incidents that never were expressed
and help change self-limiting decisions you made about yourself or your
circumstances as a result of the trauma.
11. IS PAST LIFE REGRESSION REAL OR IMAGINED?
It could possibly be only our
imagination, a metaphorical way for the mind to find answers. Some people who
don't believe in past lives, have never inquired about it and yet, when asking
their subconscious to take them to the cause of the problem, they find
themselves in another body, in another time. And their experience is very real
and relevant to the struggles they are experiencing in this lifetime. It has a
profound effect on most people's lives. In almost every past life regression,
there is a major positive change in the person's life.
12. WHAT IS MY FIRST HYPNOTHERAPY SESSION LIKE?
At Balanced Energies, your first session will consist of asking you questions to get some insight into why you've come, what motivates you and what your beliefs and expectations might be. While relaxing in a recliner and once you're in a state of relaxation, Iah Ka will guide you on a journey to experience what you want changed and offers positive suggestions to your subconscious mind specifically geared to reach your desired goal. Your subconscious mind can then transmit these thoughts and images throughout your mind and body, setting the healing process in motion. Session lasts two hours.
13. WHAT IS A REGRESSION THERAPY SESSION LIKE?
Iah Ka will converse directly with your subconscious mind addressing the particular issues that you have come for. Similar to a dream, you will begin to develop pictures, images, feelings and sensations in your mind to accompany the questions you hear Iah Ka
asking. This may bring you back to your childhood or bring you to a symbolic dream to help you gain insight of your present issue. Your subconscious mind, where all your memories are stored, will be able to bring this up for the conscious mind to see and understand, allowing you to permanently remove the negative charge associated with the unwanted behavior. Session lasts 2 hours.
